A from me for Father Brown too - it's repeated (a lot) on channels like Alibi throughout the year too...

If it is the series with Mark William, he just doesn’t come over as a priest. Perhaps he is overdoing the humble/pious. I love his documentary series about the industrial revolution and railways. He seems to have a real passion for that.

Frontier, another Netflix series, via Discovery Canada rather than an original. Far, far too much going on for 6x45 minute episodes; the main stories were great but the number of twists and side characters that got introduced left me wandering WTF I was supposed to care about.

Ultimately it's a gory tale of revenge and works really well when that's the focus, but other than that it's a bit duff.

Van Helsing (Netflix)
It's ok - the first episodes were less so, and the non-feral vampires are shouty, leather clad clichés (so far). Six episodes in, I'm still watching, but mostly for the titular main character, the Doc, and the deaf chap.

Taboo (iPlayer)
Enjoying this very much - I like Tom Hardy, and he's got a great supporting cast to work with here.

Supergirl S1
Light, but a lot of fun. A bit like "The Flash" in that it's not taken the dark 'n' gritty approach to superheroism, and Supergirl herself is played wonderfully.

I agree, he doesnt come over very well in it .

Not seen this before but a recent foray into attracting some birds into the garden has made this interesting viewing.

I'm watching Doctor Who from the very first episode. I grew up with Tom Baker onwards so it's a revelation to see where it started.

In between that I'm watching Bull. After 13 years of NCIS it's good to see none of DiNozzo in the character.
I like courtroom stuff and movies like Runaway Jury.

It was cold last week and the coal in the bath started to get low, which turned out well as someone needed to bath the whippets.

Just finished watch a 6 part Australian supernatural drama thing called Sonnigsburg... not quite sure what to make of it, or if it had a proper ending or not, or if it was 'quite' good or complete sh!te... anyone else see it?
