A frantic "here's everyone, and this is what they are like" first episode hasn't done this any favours - I watched it in bits, finding that it didn't really grab me. The second episode looks to be world building flashbacks, and I hope they get past this and into the actual story soon.

Braquo S3 (Netflix)
One episode in, and the team's revenge has already been thwarted, and they're under the watchful eye of their new, straight arrow chief even more than before. I suspect that this means a rough time for them, and an enjoyable series for me.

Finished series one of the excellent Lucifer and have started series two. Worth the Amazon Prime subscription on it's own, making everything else on there a bonus.
Series 2 gets a bit more "interesting"

Maze is definitely my favourite character. I seem to have a thing for psychos.

One show in and I have no idea what's going on. I was hoping Tom Hardy might try a different voice, and he's giving it a good go.
I watched Taboo last night and thought it was fantastic. There's menace, intrigue all in one.

I agree, Maze is one of the stars of the show - and definitely trouble. ;)
Uncle is back!

Great, easy-watching comedy. Wasted on catch-up.
I was really looking forward to the return of Uncle, but was a bit underwhelmed by the first episode. Fingers crossed it gets back to its usual quality.

Also watched Endeavour last night, great to see it back and much preferred it to the pretentious convuluted twaddle that Sherlock is becoming (although I have recorded it, just in case).
Loved the dialogue about the 1960s chess playing computer being 'reset':
The professor starts explaining the process and is interrupted with "So basically you switch it off and back on again then? How long does that take?"
"Oh, just a few hours"

Stick with Van Helsing, it does get better, then worse, then better :-)

Series 3 is the best of Braquo IMO, though they are all quality.

The Man in the High Castle, (series 2)

Wooden and unengaging characters mumble/whisper their way through a thoroughly boring and pointless plot in the hope that something interesting might happen... it doesn't. Series one was bad enough, but this has been just dire.

Amazon - please don't bother with a third series

I feel like I could... TAKE ON THE WORLD!!
We're on episode 7 or 8 (the one when it all hits the fan). Not as good as the first series but the action has picked up nicely now.

I'm also enjoying the artistry in it. Very well produced, atmospheric with some good characters.
The bad reviews Ive read so far have been from people who didnt like season 1 either, its a bit of a marmite show. I liked season 1 so I will be crossing my fingers when I get round to watching, after Westworld everything seems a bit inferior atm.

I know the feeling - although I was chatting with another fellow who was saying that everything on streaming was rubbish because it wasn't as good as "Breaking Bad", which I thought a bit too high a bar
Breaking bad was really good but I dont think i could rewatch it. Westworld is good on repeat as you pick up all the stuff you missed early on that didnt seem important at the time. The expanse is back at the end of this month, the first season was pretty solid sci fi but Ive got a bad feeling about the next season for some reason.

In fairness TV has improved a lot recently with Netflix, Amazon and HBO, Man in the High Castle would probably have been lauded without all these other great shows around.

Me and the wife recently finished up watching The Medici's very good looking forward to the second series, now on to watching the Man in the High Castle and loving it, just about to head into series 2 hoping it's as good.

i also recently watched a 3 part series called Generation War, set during WW2 and follows 5 friends and their stories from the German side of things, it's also in German so if you don't mind subtitles i would recommend it as it's on Netflix.

Never heard of The Man in the High Castle... looks interesting.

Might have to rewatch An Englishman's Castle again... a 1977 drama surrounding a TV production crew in an England that's been a province of Germany since the 1940s ...excellent stuff.

Enjoyed the first episode of The Unforgotten (series 2).
