If you watch the accompanying documentary, SAS Rogue Warriors, they allude to the fact that some of the story may, or may not be true, but the majority of it was accurate, it was a good series though, like a movie version of the old Commando magazines

Yes, that's kinda what I mean. I think it deliberately aims to have that comic book vibe. I thought it was carried off well, on balance.

I watched Rogue Warriors too (partly out of interest to see how much of Rogue Heroes might be true!) and enjoyed it though obviously in a different way.

Just bought the book on Kindle - reads really well over the sample pages I tried last night. 99p was a bargain.

iirc it was made by the same people who did the Peaky Blinders, hence why it was so stylised

Shaun the Sheep, Farmageddon, hilarious and brilliant, the best thing that’s been on this Xmas

I've downloaded it so I can rewatch & spot all the gags I've missed the first time. Apart from that, His Dark Materials, Tokyo Vice (highly recommended), Mayflies (ditto), and for the first time since the premiere in 1987 (!), Tutti Frutti. Sublime bit of telly. RIP, Big Rab…

Watched Mayflies too, it's good, but my god it's a tough watch, the music in it, the characters all set in the mid eighties, made it really easy to identify with them.

We've started watching "Lupin" on Netflix. It's a modern day re telling of Arsene Lupin, the French master thief, something akin to our Raffles I suppose (though I've not read either).

Two episodes in, and it's really rather good !

3 episodes into The Walk In (ITV hub). Its really well done and worth watching. Drama based on true events for the un initiated. there is also a proper documentary re said events which i will watch afterwards.

Stephen Graham is excellent in the lead role

Treason on Netflix is good and just 5 45 minute episodes so not as drawn out as some of the American series.

I will give that a go.
That’s what puts me off so many shows. They are too long. I don’t want to dedicate 30 hours to a show that is far too complicated for its own good.

My guilty pleasure over Xmas 2022 was...The Man from UNCLE on TCM. Never seen the original episodes until now, brought up in the 70's on those 'TV movies' ie. Helicopter Spies, Karate Killers etc. These were amalgamated episodes cut into movies from the foreign TV market. Good to see the original stories they were made from. I'm concerned I might have over-binged on it....recently asked my biro to open channel D^_^
