Jingle all the way, Grand kids were here, but that wouldn't have stopped the wife forcing me to watch it anyway.

Then half of Galls Onion Knives Out 2, wtf is the accent that Daniel Craig is trying to do?

I think it's Geordie?

;-)

Assuming the same as the first film, I think it was a bit over the top. That might have worked in a genuine spoof, but it was distracting in that film, it turned his character into some weird characature, while the rest of the film was played straight (even though events were sometimes ludicrous). Still a great film!.

And I'm glad you've mentioned it, because I thought I was the only person in the world to be bothered by it ...

Currently alternating between a couple:

- Michael Mann's '60s Chicago organised crime drama "Crime Story"; which manages to be both kitch and pretty hard-edged at times
- The Matt Berry comedy vehicle "What we do in the Shadows" - an entirely silly spoof reality TV show about a household of vampires; probably the most I've laughed in a very long time

The old man on disney
Jeff bridges as a retired agent whos past gets dredged up by the agency who decide to bring him in , the usual fight scenes old fart vs young guns using experience and the element of surprise as they aint expecting it,
John Lithgow plays the agent in charge of the chase whos been bought out of retirement to head the capture for some reason.
Not shakespeare for sure but i like jeff bridges and its well done for that sort of thing

I quite enjoyed it, especially the non too subtle digs at a certain mega rich Bond villianesque social media owning, car manufacturing, space junk deploying, daffodil of the highest order. :okay:

His accent was pathetic - he has very little talent imo. Just lucky enough to be born with rugged good looks (so I'm told) that happened to conform to the James Bond ideal.

Crappy plot too.

SAS Rogue Hero's - iPlayer.Okay watch, decent soundtrack but slightly odd pantomime-looking sets at times.
I thought it was excellent but for me the key was, despite its basis in truth, to treat it as you suggest - as pantomime. It's comic book stuff really, and worked for me like that.

If you watch the accompanying documentary, SAS Rogue Warriors, they allude to the fact that some of the story may, or may not be true, but the majority of it was accurate, it was a good series though, like a movie version of the old Commando magazines

Yes, that's kinda what I mean. I think it deliberately aims to have that comic book vibe. I thought it was carried off well, on balance.

I watched Rogue Warriors too (partly out of interest to see how much of Rogue Heroes might be true!) and enjoyed it though obviously in a different way.
