I don't mind that scenes don't 'geographically connect'... that's the magic of television  Remember the comments on here when Happy Valley was being aired? ...but the Morecambe shots in Stay Close were so insignificant, why did they bother?
I heard the director is a fan of Morecambe bay shrimps...maybe

TBH, it was the locations in Morecambe that inspired me to watch it in the first place. You do right to give up.

Regarding the locations... why did they bother filming in both Blackpool and Morecambe? Both look pretty much the same and are the same place in the series... but moving the cast and crew some 50 miles just for a few insignificant shots seems like a magnificent waste of time with no real benefit. They also shot the bridge in Runcorn, 50 miles in the other direction, and 'the big head' near St Helens... but they're significant looking landmarks... They used nothing in Morecambe to justify being there, not even the view across the bay

It was all over the show ! Fair few locations in Manchester - ah Morecame was used for the sea front - I was thinking maybe St Annes - didn't know. It was OK though.

The Expanse is going well this series, as is book of Boba Fett.

Morecambe was little more than the entrance to Lorraine's flat and the view through her window... all the other seaside locations were Blackpool i believe, apart from the safehouse... not sure where that was.

The "dodgy club" was actually downstairs in 'Impossible' in Manchester - I go in the 'upstairs bit' fairly regular (well pre pandemic), and the hen party was in The Refuge bar in Kimpton Clocktower Hotel - another nice bar (if insanely expensive).

It was Morecambe for the seafront - see above, and St Helens for the sculpture.

It's pretty much the last place I want to visit.

The last time i went to Blackpool i got off the bus, exited the bus station, realised how grim it was, walked round the block and got back on the very same bus
Lol...good job the other 8 million visitors don't think like that.

I came into town on the PruTour. Looked great at night in the dark.
Next morning - bleak. Stormy weather and out of season.

I'm sure it's better on a sunny summer day.

Surgical Spirit last night, on Forces TV :okay::okay:

Sheila Sabatini, is very reminiscent of a lady Consultant I know (but this one's not a Surgeon)

We saw her in Mikado in Bath. She had a wonderful contralto singing voice and could dance well and athletically too. She must have been in her sixties even the. but still brought real glamour and panache as well as talent. She practically stole the show, though the whole show was a joy. Former Dr Who Sylvester McCoy was in the title role (not actually a big part) - he couldn't really sing but brought considerable presence and pomposity to his role, so was also very entertaining. It's easy to sneer at G&S but the music is wonderful and the satire biting and relevant to this day if done well. Mikado is Sullivan's masterpiece I think
