Lucky Man has finally ended... thank f*ck. Not bad but not great... same with The Night Manager.

Couldn't agree more - Lucky Man started off well, but then got weighed down with over complicated nonsense that added nothing to the show and was a good 6 or 7 episode idea padded out to 10 episodes to its detriment. Plus parts of it were utterly ridiculous - when the henchman "blew up" the rear tyre on his car sending it into the most unrealistic "skid" ever and then when they got out of the car the tyre wasn't even flat!!!
And it ended with that modern TV series bugbear of mine where they couldn't stop themselves leaving it open for series 2 that may well never happen rather than bringing it to a proper close...:headshake:

Much like the Night Manager which was good but could have easily had an episode or two's worth edited from the run at no loss to the story at all.

Finally - I'm still gutted that Beowulf: Return to the Shieldlands has been cancelled...

We finished off the second series of The Affair last night.

Overall I enjoyed it. The story is pretty ridiculous and the ending sets it up for an unnecessary third series which annoyed me a bit. Anyway, it's really well filmed and I like the different perspectives on the story. The transformation of the main guy from a vaguely pitiable character into an absolute dick is pretty impressive.

After adding episodes to Night Manager and failing to edit them down properly I've had another television disaster - I didn't actually watch the whole final episode!

I was discussing it with a friend who was praising the cover of "House of the Rising Sun", which I had no recollection of. Then I remembered that SophRM was "dying of tiredness" on Sunday evening so we'd only made it half way through the last show...

It all makes a bit more sense now, and I think a third series is probably needed to tie things up properly.

Binge watched the entire second series of Daredevil. Loved it. Some good fight scenes and the Punisher was done really well.

I watched the first episode of 11.22.63 last night. If you've never heard of it, it's a time travel thriller in which a young man travels back to the early 60s on a mission to avert the assassination of JFK. It's got pedigree (adapted from Stephen King's novel, directed by Kevin McDonald, exec produced by JJ Abrams). I've read the book so it will be interesting to see if the series follows the same path. It's only on Hulu at the moment, or your favourite illicit download site.
This comes to cable and satellite on Sunday, on Fox. Worth a watch.
