On BBC last night, Chef vs Science should have been a sure fire success for me, I like science and I like cooking and I have to cook for some language school students every night, so I am "semi-professional".
I had to switch over or else f and blind at the TV for doing that TV cookery-show technique of Never Showing the Food. A scientists was explaining to a chef his science bit, with the help of a picture, but all we see is the face of the scientists explaining, followed by the face of the chef emoting bafflement, and back to the face of the explainy scientist again. Not a single steady shot of food or food processing or cookery or science.
grrrrr.

I read something depressing about TV the other day. Apparently, The Only Way Is Essex has notched up 200 episodes. That'll be 200 dollops of s**** then:blush:.

Personally, I find that there's lots of good stuff online. I discovered recently that someone has put up all the episodes of Department S, one of the Monty Berman 60's shows. Excellent stuff, don't recall seeing it at the time but I did watch The Champions.

Anyone else out there like the old stuff?.

I think I'm on 8 or something, lose track easily. It's good, not as good as the first series IMO. But is it me or has the fighting choreography seriously upgraded a notch?

I like it slightly more, I think. The Punisher and Elektra characters have worked well in getting Daredevil to examine his vigilantism. I think you're right about the choreography - Elektra and The Punisher get some good set pieces too.

Anyway, I've split the in between cricket time between Thirteen, and Season three of In the Line of Duty (both free on iPlayer). Good first episodes from both those.
"Goggle Box TV" and how brilliant it was - so we recorded a program and watched a little of it tonight - WTF ? its like nothing I have ever seen before. Bizzare
My secret hope is that it's the set up for a programme in which people are shown commenting on "Gogglebox".

THEN there will be a programme in which people are shown watching and commenting on the show about the people shown watching and commenting on "Gogglebox".

THEN...

'Guy Martins Wall of Death', then dipped into 'Avengers Assemble', until bedtime at 22:00

I couldn't very well turn it over/off, as SWMBO was too busy looking at Chris Hemsworth, & Chris Evans
Mindst you, I had to contend with watching Scarlett Johansson in a leather catsuit.............

Finished The Night Manager yesterday.

Cracking series, though it could probably have been cut down to 8 episodes. That said I'm a harsh critic and would be a ruthless editor.

Is Wall of Death worth investing 2 hours in? Because really I just want to see him spin round the thing and I'm not sure I can be arsed watching the filler.
I gave up on it a few episodes back on the grounds it was a ludicrous plot with ludicrous characters all acting very badly.

My guess is the porter and the tall bint headed off into the sunset holding hands and all the bad guys got their comeuppance ? or was there an unexpected twist
Not quite.

I thought it was quite a skillful adaptation, though it did take a couple of episodes to grab me.

Love The Night Manager ...

Still playing catch-up on Sky+ though so I will now avoid this thread like the plague or Merseyside ....

Whichever comes sooner.
