The End of the F***ing World.

10/10.

Funny, honest and brutal is not an easy combination, but this has managed it perfectly helped by amazing lead performances, class direction and a brilliant soundtrack. I'm very glad I stumbled across this.

Just finished up series 2 of the Travelers, which is a great sci fi series on Netflix, now on to watching the new cyberpunk/blade runner esque Altered Carbon, only a couple of episodes in but so far loving it.

Finished watching Requiem last night... quite enjoyable, spookier than expected... i might have to whizz through episode 6 one more time now i'm not feeling quite so sleepy... I'm not sure what happened.

Silent Witness, last night, was set on Christmas Day!! Slightly bizarre scheduling by the Beeb. I wonder if the series was originally due to go out late last year and finish with a 2 parter at Christmas?

The X-Files came back last night. Always takes me back to my teenage years, when it was my favourite programme. Quite enjoyed the opener for this series.

A few from Amazon Prime -

Fear the Walking Dead

Spin off from The Walking Dead which I am also watching, good zombie fun.

12 Monkeys

Watched the first 3 episodes so far and will give it a bit longer, I enjoyed the film so this has a lot to live up to.

Extant.

Halle Berry sci-fi series that I probably won't bother with for much longer, interesting idea but not that well executed.
Woman spends 13 months on a solo space voyage and comes back to earth pregnant, alien nonsense.

Just started the box set of the sci fi show "dark matter" - it having got rather good reviews. First episode looked superb, started well and not bad acting or script, albeir characters slightly corny - a gung ho soldier, ninja assasin, hot female lead, sensitive guy and so on, then a big reveal at the end - ooo, looking promising. 2nd episode the characters make a bit more sense, hints of things to come whilst it negotiates a planet of the week formula. I'm rather liking it so far even if it's looking to be adventure sci fi rather than the Big Questions of leadership and what it means to be human of the true greats like Battlestar, or the real sense of wonder of Bab 5 or Farscape (still my favourite). Still, very promising and definitely want to see what happens

Well a follow up review having completed season 1.

Really really good. It's plot driven rather than big ideas driven, but very enjoyable with a reveal or suprise at the end of each episode. And each twist makes perfect sense tying up clues you've been given previously, maybe an episode or two back. The characters have mellowed / improved too.

Maybe not quite up there with Bab 5, Battlestar remake or Farscape but well above Stargate or the various startreks fun those they are.

Great entertainment a strong recommendation.

Waiting, & biding time, for the return of 'Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D'

Definitely someone you’d want on your side. Coulson is my favourite character out of all of them.
