I was late coming to Mad Men, but I absolutely loved it and grieved when it ended. It seemed like a soap on the surface, but it was actually the story of the women's movement, and beautifully constructed and played.

I too was a late arrival, and while I agree with you the episodes I'm currently involved with revolve around Don and Peter being absolute twunts which is why I'm struggling.

I know what you mean, but stick with it!

I'm going to. Peggy finally sticking up for herself properly has given me hope!

In between here and there
Dirty Money Netflix First one VW really quite good, 2. was on Payday Loans abit too US centric. it was ok but only stuck with it to see the end. 3 Was on big Pharma and that was a wow, I recall Hillary Clinton hitting our news with this.

I skipped to the one on Trump and that really is a cracker, the documentary and Trump! The bit on the Apprentice was really, really funny. Never realised how many adverts he has been on during the leaner years right to what looks like a few years ago McDonalds included!

If you watch the advertorial about the Trump Institute (starts 1.40) which gets covered in the Documentary he has so many tell a fakeries he must be lying\selling all the time you can see in the advert he is doing it on the hoof and using all the same mannerisms he has in speeches. During interviews when he is not in sales/lie mode totally different wording/mannerisms

It's on the planner to record and reminisce once again.

Posh Pawn - people in posh houses were pawning their jewelery just to borrow several thousand pounds.
I live in a terrace and if I needed that sort of money I'd just take the money out of my savings account.

Pointless - recently I've been getting some really good answers. Then I realized that they're repeating the shows from a year or two ago.

The one about the cellist with a fringe that only looks good on TV? Yep... enjoying that too.

The remnant of the final part of 'Biggest Little Railway' earlier

Plus, section of Star-Trek Next Generation
The wonderful episode where Sarek (Spocks father) is aboard, but not in full control of his emotions anymore
And Picard mind-melds with him, & runs the full gamut of Sareks passions

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarek_(Star_Trek:_The_Next_Generation)

Quite powerful, & a good depiction of Patrick Stewarts fine acting, from about 1.10 :notworthy:

EDIT @ 20:54

The relevant page on Wikipedia states that the mind-meld scene, of Jean-Luc, was shot in one take!!
Even more kudos to Patrick Stewart

See 'Critical Reception' on the Wiki page (point 3.2)
