I forgot about the one with Sheriden Smith in. It was beautiful.

The writers are geniuses.
Was that the car crash one told over a Christmas dinner?

I've just finished Once Removed. Another very, very clever episode; the reveals, the situational elements, the innuendo... All brilliant.

Then I rewatched Bernie Clifton's Dressing Room. Even knowing what was coming it was just as powerful and engaging as the first viewing which for me is the mark of something truly well crafted.

Here for rides.
US PBS World War I, nine hours of amazing documentary TV. Take away from tonight? Whilst defending democracy around the world the US has a pronounced tendency to erode democratic freedoms at home.

House of Saud - a series detailing the ructions currently engulfing 'the most corrupt country in the world' (and think of the competition!) 'Gobsmacking' doesn't come close. In one deal, a Dutch construction company won a half-billion dollar deal, of which something like $300 million went in backhanders. Almost 60% of the total job value consisting of bribes. But the Dutch were pretty minor players compared to the UK. The programme featured near-hilarious accounts of communications between recently appointed diplomats and the Foreign Office back in Whitehall, with the embassy reporting staggering levels of corruption, only to have London respond with 'don't rock the boat, there's a good chap'. Riveting stuff.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Just started watching 'Britannia'. Factual it aint. And the theme song 'the Hurdy Gurdy man' by Donovan is somewhat strange as well to say the least, but it is strangely compelling. ^_^ A lot of good actors are in the series though. I shall continue to watch just to see what happens, though i suspect i already know the plot to this one unless the producers decide to change history completely and that is a distinct possibility with this series.

Ash vs Evil Dead.

I am a big fan of Bruce Campbell and he's clearly having a whale of a time in this ridiculously over the top extension of the Evil Dead story. Buckets of gore, terrible jokes, crass sexism, general stupidity. It's not going to be for everyone but as a fan of the B Movie I'm loving it and am a bit ashamed it's taken me so long to get involved.

Only saw the first episode so far (but all are available to download)

I'm intrigued enough to download more, although their choice in title music leaves a lot to be desired
We finished season 1 last night. Given the recommendations on here I was expecting great things. The story is ok, but the acting and editing isn't great. Some pretty wooden characters, some of which look like they're reading their lines from a board.

Still, it's easy watching so I'm sure we'll work through the rest of the seasons.
At the start I thought some of the story line was a bit predictable but it is easy watching, it improves with time and better than most things on the normal channels.

I just watched the 2nd episode of Silent Witness. I enjoy these shows, but i must confess that Nicky Alexander does seem to have perfected the gormless look. She seems to spend most of each episode looking completely gobsmacked. I do find it a bit off putting. It's about time she tried using a different expression during the show instead of this .

Apart from that, it is another excellent series.
