60mph three times give or take .5mph! :hyper: Nutter and a half haha if anyone knows the climb on the c2c from whitehaven up to the cafe, the decent down there, i do remember last time i did it some idiot in a landrover with a trailer tried overtaking me and nearley ran me off the road when he pulled in before his trailer had passed me. i actually went onto the fine gravel and just managed to hold it! Could of been very nasty if i went slightly further into the ditch or larger chunks pf gravel now i think about... it i dont think ill do that again...

i once stopped looking after my speedo reached 48mph. I didn't have a garmin then, so it didn't store the top speed, but i couldn't bear to look down to see what it was after i saw it clock 48. I'm not sure how i didn't die because there was a set of lights half way down the hill and i knew there would have been a point of no return if they had started to change to red. thankfully, they didn't.

this was before i ever fell off. i'm not that reckless anymore.

88kph coming down a mountain pass once, or about 55mph. I believe I went a bit faster but I was not looking at my speedo anymore and in those days they did not record your maximum speed. My personal record will stand the test of time because in no way do I ever intend to approach such speeds again.

fit cross levers to your road bike and better pads, you can then stop so quickly that anyone you are riding with needs to be warned even if they are 10m or more back! Ask my OH!
lol, I do have "good brakes" it's more the fact that I weigh double that of the average slinky cyclist isn't helping:stop: I need brake pads the size of breeze blocks to stop me:rofl:

95 MPH.Oops thought I was on the motor cycle chat.

According to my Strava App 42.5 mph

On most rides my max is around 28-30 mph

I actually am a bit of a chicken on downhills.

Just had a training trip up to British Camp on The Malverns. My shiny new Edge 200 recorded 45.4mph coming down past Little Malvern Priory on the way home. The trip up was a distinctly embarrassing 4.2 mph.

My Garmin GPS once informed me I'd averaged about 3000km/h on a weekend ride once: who am I to argue with the machine?
Realistically, though, I did manage 81km/h (50.35 mph) once, although I got some front wheel wobble.

88kph on the descent from Puig Major to Soller on Mallorca. Lovely smooth road surface with some long sweeping bends and good sight lines. Closest thing to flying
