What is your fastest recorded speed?

I have only been riding for a couple of months and I really enjoy it.I don't really do long rides just 8-12miles at the fastest I can push myself.I use Strava to record my rides and my top speed I have recorded is 34 mph down hill,a friend told me he has recorded 45 mph!!

I know it's been done loads but I'll bite : 41.7 mph down Cothercott Hill, Shropshire. At the end of the ride I found my tyres were starting to fail due to age . Haven't been brave enough to try going faster strangely enough.

26.4 MPH, not very quick compared to the rest of you. But I was riding my rear-loaded touring bike, down a very steep hill. To say that I was scared... That would be an understatement...

Yes, but this particular subject comes up every month or two, and the last time was only a few weeks ago, a few weeks after the time before that!

I'm a motorcyclist aswell but riding quick on spindly tyres on bumpy pot hole strewn roads takes some balls IMO.

It's the brakes on the road bikes that bother me more than the tyres for me, my road bikes takes a fortnight to stop 20% hills, my mtb stops on a ten bob bit at any speed.
