Elder Son asked me to look at the commuter bike because the gears are slipping in the middle ring. I think I found the problem:

I've replaced the crankset with another newer and almost identical one.

Elder Son doesn't know I've done this though:

Put a basket on Frau Fritz’s e-bike… need a beer now.

It may look calm and peaceful with its sea foam green paint and whitewalls, but the silly thing goes like a stabbed rat!

New gear cable on the mtb
Regreased the bb and re assembeld the crankset although I feel the constant creak is maybe coming from somewhere else my ears aren't hearing properly.

New brake cable on little ones bike. Broke at the clamp screw after 30 miles, not what I expected from a new specialised bike.
Checked my backloader fits OK on it, it does.
All ready for a little planned overnighter on Friday for her .

I need to put new pads on my disc brakes I think.

I know you need to bed in new disc brakes - but if you just change the pads ? Is that needed ?

The Ridley Helium hillclimb bike is just about done, bar trimming the steerer and seatpost. It's at 5.5kg which will do but there's a couple of future jobs planned to make further tweaks:

Including removing the bottle cage? (Does anybody ever actually drink during hillclimb events?)

Nice bike!

Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee......eeeeeeeeeeeeet!!!!!!!!!!!

My mountain bike had a slow rear wheel puncture which I finally decided to fix this evening. It turned out to be unrepairable*** so I put a replacement tube in instead.

You know about doublechecking that the tyre is seated properly, and that the tube isn't trapped? Yeah, I ALWAYS do that too. Except tonight that is. And, of course, the inevitable happened...

Has anybody got any spare ears for sale at an affordable price?

*** The valve was ripping out of the tube. Bodgery might have fixed it, but I wasn't prepared to take the chance!

Should be fixable if you have enough patches
