When I bought my Spa Aubisque 3 years ago I wanted silver wheels, seatpost etc.

That wasn't entirely possible at the time so I went with some stuff in silver and some in boring black.

Today I had delivery of a shiny silver handlebar from Flandria. That just leaves the wheels. I'll hope to build a new wheelset this year.

YES ! A man to my own heart. This new Blackout (Black on Black on Black) trend regarding components / Groupsets doesn't float my boat either.

On all my bikes i have bought contrasting parts. Much of the time Raw or Polished (ie: Un-painted Silver). Even if thats 'just' pedals, seat, clamp, wheel skewers, stem perhaps and a few other odd parts. Just something to break up the sea of Black.

We're certainly in agreement.......

Just fitted my new tail light to the ebike commuter, it brightens when slowing down and flashes under hard braking. Busch and Muller Dart E Brex. Her indoors wasn't impressed with me riding up and down the kitchen trying it out. 🤣

This arrived today, managed to get a small discount but still in insane amount of money for what it is, must be the special Brompton tax, but it is exactly the size I’m after, and will be perfect for my short trips to work and into town.

I used MKS Sylvan Tour for several years before I went SPD.
One of the few pedal makes left that is easily owner serviced. :okay:
That wasn't my experience when i tried to service mine a couple of years ago; can't remember what the issue was, but the solution was just to buy a new pair.

Huh, not 2 years ago; 7 years! I hate the passage of time!

A few bits for future projects:

- A pair of Continental GP5000 AS TR All Season tyres for the Ridley Fenix I'll build when I'm better.
- Also a Dura-Ace press-fit bottom bracket for the above build.
- A pair of Dura-Ace brake levers for the Raleigh SP road bike. I picked up some Shimano 600's but these will be nicer.

Finally, I bid on and won a Vitus 797. It's the same bike I posted on the 'ebay and auction watch ...' thread back in November and had been on sale for a while. It was sold for a very nice price possibly because it needed cleaning properly and I picked it up this afternoon from a friendly seller. Came with a pump and a saddle bag as a bonus. Original photo:
