I as previously mentioned today bought Fulcrum DB Racing 800 wheelset for only £110! They are 34mm alloy wheels which I think will suit my new Ridley Fenix SLA 105😊

Not for the bike, but for on the bike...

I just got a £2 cashback offer if I spent £5+ before midnight so I ordered a pair of these lightweight cargo shorts for casual summer bike rides. Free postage so that will be £6.49 overall. I've got heavy duty Endura shorts which are great for mild spring and autumn rides but are much too warm for rides in hot weather.

More wheels than sense
Took a punt on a 23mm and 25mm of Ritchey WCS Race Slicks being plenty good enough for £10 and £15 each

@FishFright - I'd be interested to see what they're like.

Picked up a few bits:

- An FSA SL-K Light carbon crank set, ostensibly for my Ridley Fenix build until the bottom bracket in there needs changing. The price seemed very decent.
- A LH Ultegra crank as a spare.
- A very reasonable Dura-Ace cassette, and
- An Ultegra crank set for son no. 2's Ridley Fenix at a budget-friendly price.

Ostensibly we'll probably not need the chainrings on his as he's got Absolute Black winter ones on there but those have done many thousands of winter miles. Currently it's got very battered 105 cranks and this will complete the upgrade to a full Ultegra groupset.

They are going into the 'when needed box' but a quick once over didn't flag up anything untoward.

The shorts just arrived. They are a good fit for me and should be a lot better to ride in than the Endura shorts during our one hot day each year!

It will be a while before I will be riding in shorts again and discover how they feel on the bike. If for some reason they don't feel right then, no matter, I am sure they would be good for walking in.

a saddle and a headset. I don't particularly need a new saddle but i do need to replace the bottom half of my headset, although I'm really not looking forward to actually doing it.

I bought another tandem yesterday.

It's in Wakefield, I'm in N Ireland. Sent my mate in Wakefield the money and he went round and lifted it for me. An absolute billy bargain if there ever was one. It's now the 3rd Circe Helios that I have owned. Now to plan how I'm getting it home
Ride it obviously!

I've been a bit spendy on components recently, with my excuse being that I'm not racing due to my hand injury and therefore am actually saving quite a lot. Which I'm then spending on bike parts.

The past few day's purchases have been:

- A Dura-Ace 9100 crankset - bought in two separate parts - for a bike. Not sure which yet although I might stick it onto the NeilPryde Nazaré or use it for the TT bike upgrade.
- A pair of Dura-Ace 7900 hoods as they're rare and I've 7900 shifters on my two vintage bikes.
- A rear Lezyne Strip Drive 300+ light as son no 2's is excellent so I'm having one.
- A pair of Fizik Cyrano 00 carbon handlebars that will go on the track bike as I'm currently 'borrowing' a pair from son no 2's hillclimb bike set-up.

There will be a load of parts to be sold once I've done any planned upgrades, but that will have to wait.

I just weighed them... They are 50% (nearly 0.3 kg) lighter than the Endura Humvees! I am not so much concerned with the weight as I am with how much more comfortable the thinner material will be in hot conditions.
