A few bits:

- A pair of new Ultegra 8100 brake calipers for the Ridley Fenix build. The ones that came off the Merida smart turbo bike are a bit xx( as they were old, battered, filthy and were simply added just in case it was used outdoors.
- A pair of XL Boardman gloves so I can start riding again, discounted at Halfords
- A pair of Kenda Small Block 8 tyres for son no. 1's bike
- A Nitto Dynamic stem for the Vitus - at £10 and unused that's a bargain imho
- A pair of Super Racing Europa handlebars for the Vitus for another £10
- A Dura-Ace 9000 rear derailleur as I used one for the Ridley Fenix

I was ordering a few other things and I have had this in my basket for a while and I took a punt and ordered it. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0C89YM8ZF?smid=A133CEVPJQ9EDI&ref_=chk_typ_imgToDp&th=1

It seems to have a lot of mounting options:

In my continued attempt to prop up the cycling industry whilst currently unable to ride outdoors I've picked up:

- A pair of half-price Dura-Ace 9100 pedals
- Some titanium silver skewers to replace the green ones I'm using for the Ridley build
- A couple of 50mm Shimano brake bolts as I need one for the Ridley Fenix and used the last one I had on Son no. 2's Fenix build
- A set of Absolute Black chainrings at a silly price
- Some BBB jockey wheels (seller accepted my very cheeky offer)
- Also, a possibly damaged Ultegra 8000 LH shifter but for £30 delivered I'll take the risk
- Finally, after tonight's Zwift session, a new belt for the Tacx T2900 which I hope will stop the annoying squealing sound

On Monday I found an FSA powerbox alloy crankset and power meter online for £60 ex-display, confirmed they had it, ordered it with next day delivery, hadn't turned up by lunchtime today so emailed them to find out what was going on, apparently they don't have it anymore. Annoying, but worse I had ordered a new set of chainrings to go with it as they only had 53/39s on it which is way to high a gearing for me. The chainrings arrived this morning. Also ordered batteries and a new bottom bracket for it (BB386evo, which I already have fitted, but figured a new one wouldn't hurt).

This is all to replace the power meter I have fitted which doesn't take a charge anymore. So having got so close and been foiled I've ordered an alternative Powerbox carbon crankset which Windwave (FSA distributors) had for a significant discount. It's 48/32 so nice and low gearing and with sending the chainrings back tomorrow it's only a bit more than I was in for before. I'm deluding myself over sunk costs but despite knowing this I find it easy to talk myself into these things.

Not exactly for the bike itself, new long finger summer gloves. From Endura's Amazon shop. So if it returns to winter this week you can blame me.

Expecting that inevitably though I also bought some of Endura's winter gloves for Spring 🤔

Actually for the bike, I also got some Mucoff cleaner from the Mucoff store.

Second hand pair of steel rim, 27x1&1/4l” wheels. With Michelin World Tour tyres in good condition. The wheels are immaterial, the tyres are gold :-)

On my to buy list are two Garmin mounts, my existing ones have stripped the screw holes (they official Garmin ones have a design flaw in that the thread is plastic with no retaining nut). All I did was unscrew the mount to be able to change the bar tape a bit easier.

It was some ETC bar tape stuff but it was awful and started to disintegrate as I wrapped it. I’ve done an ok job for now but it’ll be coming off once I buy some replacement bar tape as it isn’t going to last long if it’s already falling apart on installation.

Also got an offer on an Elite Muin Direct Drive Turbo trainer. Not sure if they are much quieter than a normal turbo but I like the idea of using one when the kids are in bed.

Elite Muin Direct Drive Turbo trainer
I used to use one before I got a Smart trainer. The smart trainer is a bit more interesting but I think the Muin was smoother and better made. Its a sturdy solid machine and compared to a wheel on trainer much quieter. Any noise is from your bike rather than the Muin. In my old block of apartments the only time I got complaints was when I put the bike in the big ring. In the narrow corridor I think the bike made a bit of a whomp. Using the small bike ring I never got any complaints and I think the small ring is recommended by coaches anyway :okay:

I nearly bought some tub cement yesterday, but they were out of stock. I shall try the other shop on Thursday when I'm in town.

Some bits and pieces over the past couple of days:

- An American Classic front skewer for the fuschia Raleigh so the skewers match.
- An Ultegra bottom bracket for stock.
- A pair of SKS Raceblade Long mudguards.
- Some cantilever brake bits for son no. 2's Columbus.
- A Garmin mount - silver - to fit on the Ridley Fenix build, which is away having the cables installed by the LBS as I currently don't have the dexterity needed to feed them through the aero handlebars.
- A couple of Shimano high/low limit screws as I pinched one from a derailleur for the Vitus 797.
- Three sets of Velox Guidoline bar tape for stock as I used my last one on the above Vitus.
- Finally, a couple of Dura-Ace/Ultegra brake adjusters as I've lost one somewhere and wouldn't mind having a spare.

A pair of Conti GP5000s and some Turbolitu TPU inner tubes. A Selle Italia SLR saddle.
And, paradoxically, a set of mudguards.

For the Trek FX Sport 6 I also ordered today.

I'm tempted to see how much I use it and how often I get wet before I put the mudguards on*.

*Nah, who am I kidding. I don't like getting a soggy bottom!
