Cheap enough to buy a seat for each ski...as long as your not bothered If they sit together ?Michael O'Leary doesn't see it that way.
I shouldn't mock how we survived the winters 50 and beyond years ago. If I remember rightly it cost about Ā£3,500 to buy central heating for a terraced house back in the 1970's. Probably not much less than a years pay for many.š¤
As we got married quite young in 1977, our first house had a coal fire and we simply couldn't afford 2 bags of coal a week so we spent 50% of winter too cold. Certain things were expensive then, nothing new in todays climate.

Good job I've got two!!
Diesel I just stand with my back to the pump!
Finally my wife went to Aldi this week and did a Christmas shop oh the shame of it, think she wore a disguise!š¤£š¤£š¤£
Bed and breakfasts have gone crazy here. I had got used to occasionally making little overnighters to the coast as a way of extending my cycling range but it's too expensive now.
Most hostels don't seem to have re-opened properly since Covid and most campsites seem to only want camper vans and caravans now.
I will have a few days off in February and was thinking about a leisurely ride along the Royal Canal and also the greenway along the old railway line to Athlone so priced a few nights B&B in Mullingar.
A quick search on Booking.com reveals ā¬90+ per night for one person in a town that isn't a tourist destination in the beginning of February!
Stuff that. Who on earth is paying these prices? No wonder people fly to Spain to barbecue themselves on a beach.

There's a reason they are millionaires...Wait until they hear about Farmfoods šIn all seriousness we know 4 multi-millionairres that regularly shop in our local Aldi (Kendal).
I think the 'downmarket' stigma has well and truly gone these days.
Saves us a small fortune over the course of a year.

Totally of subject sorry but my oldest friend from primary school days is loaded (in the millions) tight as they come.Allways was very money orientated from when we were kids.Has a import/export buisness and a whole string of properties. He has the huge house and big car but everything from getting a round in to driving a extra four miles because it's cheaper petrol !Two in property, one in global banking (mega-wealthy) and one in management consultancy.

Likewise, I have holidays to use (use them or lose them) before the end of March, so booked a week off in February and another 2 weeks off in March. Then started to look for the bargains, because no-one else goes on holiday in February, do they? Wrong, apparently. The cheapest holiday to somewhere warm I could find came to Ā£700 . That was return flights Glasgow to Lanzarote, and 7 nights in the cheapest hotel available with Jet2. Needless to say I won't be going. Five years ago I went to Orlando for 2 weeks in February, return flights with BA (Glasgow to London to Orlando, and return) taking my bike with me, for Ā£750. I priced that for this February and it came to Ā£1150 for ONE week. Won't be going there either. And just like yourself, using bookingdotcom I have found that the prices of hotels in the UK have just got stupid since covid. Roughly double what they were pre covid.
I sometimes wonder what is going on in the UK.. With the huge increases in energy bills, food bills, and every other bill, you would think that the demand for holidays and weekend breaks might be less, and therefore cheaper? Certainly not the case. There's still no shortage of cash for non essentials.
