Steve parted company with them a few years back but at least he was with them whilst Lee was still alive. To see Steve when younger (pre-feelgood) there are 2 clips of 'Steve Marriott with the DT's' on youtube.

To be fair, the drummer Kevin and bass player Phil where also part of one of the last Lee led line ups.

Yep a couple of times, The DT's were a kind of 'local' band and played at 'the Princess Charlotte' about every month. I was there when Steve Marriott played his first gig with them though (totally unannounced) there was a guitar leant against an amp at the side and after 4-5 numbers this little chubby guy in dungarees wandered out, picked up the guitar and shouted "Awright"

Managed to see some rodent rock on three occasions, twice in Reading, and also in Brentford after work.

Your comment about Steve Marriot chimed - saw the Buzzcocks not too long before Pete Shelley passed, but he sure looked old.
Wouldn't have recognised him walking down the street, maybe he was already ill at this time

I saw Eddie and the Hot Rods for the third time not long before Barrie Masters died. While recognisable he had aged and didn't look in great shape.

Nah Steve Marriott was never ill, he was fit as a flea until he set his bed alight with a cigarette and died in the ensuing fire. The comment comes from his own description as a 'Bald headed fat little has-been' during the song Five Long Years on the 'Packet Of Three'* DVD I've got

* due to Tax problems Steve re-named the remains of Humble Pie various things to avoid getting collared, another one was 'Book Em And Leggit'

We saw them in Bristol a week or so back. Very good.

Their support group Deux Furieueses were very good too, but sadly we only caught the tail end of their set having not judged the likely start times well enough. Why don't they just say when the gig starts rather than you having to guess ? OK I know they want you early so you buy more beer, but it's still annoying. Anyhow bought a couple of the girls' albums inspired by my brief hearing and they are a great exciting, and very tightly rythmic duo, even if I might quibble about the somewhat repetitious singing, though very much in tune and to be fair they aren't quite songs as such. Anyhow check them out if they come around your way. They do a lot just as a drum and lecci guitar duo

Canadian Black Metallers Panzerfaust, a band I've been wanting to see for a couple of years and they didn't disappoint. Supurb stuff. Headliners were the faceless German singing Black Metallers Kanonenfieber. They were great too.

Hadn't heard of Kanonenfieber but I'll have to check them out.

Their shtick is WW1. Wearing masks to hide their identity, WW1 gear. A Black Metal Rammstein without the electro if you will. Have a listen to their new album Die Urkastrophe.

T? have been posting set times on their social media accounts- DF were on at 7.50 (both London and Bristol), which was only 20 mins after doors anyway. In my case, I'd got to Shepherds Bush fairly early and took advantage of the O2 queue.
