Bum.

I’ve just added that to our watch list too.

I’ll give a bash anyway…

Conclave - 8/10

Lesser actors would have made this murky tale of a papal election pretty tedious but Fiennes, Tucci and Lithgow all deliver powerful performances backed up by a brilliant score and incredible cinematography.

I suspect the Catholic church won't be particularly enamoured by it as quite a few ugly truths are raised and the eventual victor in a controversial choice to say the least. Well worth a watch if you like your religious intelligent and thought provoking, but give it a miss if you think The Da Vinci Code is a weighty tome.

Heretic

Its good but not what I thought, not that Hugh Grant isn't excellent in it (that man can do creepy very well!) but I don't think it took enough risks with the story.

Jaws 3-D

Oof this is terrible, and not in a good way. Seen it before of course but the acting is all wooden, the plot (even without the shark) nonsense and it looks so cheap. The 3d effects I'd like to see working as there are some funny uses (floating arm is a good one lol).

Watched both Conclave and Heretic this week....
Conclave can't say I liked it or disliked it to be honest, great cast and beautifully shot but just not really for me.Partner loved it but anything to do with the church and she's happy.
7/10 and that's me being generous.

Heretic.
Now as much as I like Hugh Grant this was sh1te for me.Laughable rather than scary
A generous 2.5 out of 10.

Heretic was disappointing for the following:

The trouble with Heretic for me is that it didn't lean into the supernatural enough, there is a mystery there and a chance to take it in a paranormal direction could have been great. But it's played straight in the end with it all explained away by some sort of brainwashing/control

First five or so minutes of the film had potential...that's about it.Rare my daughter and partner are in agreement with me but both thought it was poor.
Didn't live up to the hype at all.

Well the bit where they carried their bikes up all those steps, rather than use the 'bike trough' that appeared to be installed on the steps made me laugh anyway

This has got slated in the press no end.
Myself and jnr decided to watch it Saturday and both agreed it was a highly enjoyable caper with some laugh out loud moments.

Me and my partner watched this last night. She thought it was a jolly old caper. I thought it was dumbed down trash and it copied a lot of themes from Arthur Christmas and Ant Man.
