Yes, it is.

I saw that recently and didn’t expect to like it but I loved it.

I've seen it three times and love it. At the film club there was a small round of applause. Always a sign people have appreciated the film.

Elevation (recent film).

Pretty "average". Cheap to make (very few actors, locations open countryside). Pretty unoriginal script, predictable, no "interesting ideas". Sort of script I'd expect AIs to be generating. But not badly made.

(In the UK it's called The Remarkable Life Of Ibelin)

The best film I've seen for a while. Certainly the most emotional film since I can remember.

Needful Things (1993)

I remember watching it in about 1998 but it was on a very low quality VHS recording, and I think I passed out half way through. Watching again in HD was brilliant. 8/10

Hampstead followed by Hidden Figures on Netflix. Both very enjoyable.

And both true-ish stories.

Last Breath on Netflix, since my bro and his family were visiting. I’d seen it before, but it’s no less astonishing and gripping a story the second time round. Highly recommended. Don’t read any reviews or watch any trailers!

Film called Armor (with Sylvester Stallone). another likely written by an AI. Nothing original, no amazing acting, totally predictable. Very low budget (majority of film set on deserted southern US bridge over river).

That's 1h30 of my life I'll never get back. Should have abandoned it rather than hung on watching hoping there would be maybe one surprise (which there wasn't).

On that note - we watched Subservience (Netflix - 2024) last night. A film about a home-help robot that turns bad. I've seen at least 2 other films that tackle this much better with a more exciting and less predicatble outcome. ImDB gave it a 5/10 I think, which is about right although had it not had Megan Fox in it I think I might have only given it a 4

Not only numerous movies, but quite a recent (and high-ish profile) BBC series:

Not a film as such but Black Doves on Netflix.
