Noah.

Oh dear oh dear.Looked great on the previews but what a mess. And what the hell where those `Watchers` all about,i don't recall those in my history books.Avoid.

I don't recall Noah ever being in a history book.... I read about him in a compendium of folklore once, can't remember what it's called.

That's the one most faithful to the book isn't it? I've never actually watched or heard any of the adaptations, any time I've seen a poster the story has been dressed up as a comedy, which the book isn't. Weird.

Last night I watched 'The Big Lebowski' for the umpteenth time.

I could write a dissertation on this film without even trying. It is one of the greatest pieces of cinema ever created, with incredible characters, a brilliant script and my second favourite soundtrack (beaten by Natural Born Killers). Definitely my favourite of the Coen brothers efforts, though run a close second by Fargo, ya?

Loaned that to a gaming friend who hadn't seen it, he didn't get it, and thought The Dude was a dick. I'm not sure I like him so much now, there are some indicators about a person you just shouldn't avoid.

Fifty Dead Men Walking, not the most light hearted of family viewing but having already or the book I thought I'd see how it compared.

7/10 if you like a true story.

Obviously, he is not a golfer.

Just watched the 2011 Three Musketeers. Pure tosh of course, but really entertaining. Double-crosses, double-double crosses , zepellins based on stolen Leonardo da vinci plans, mission impossible style robberies, and (obviously) lots of swordfights. Good cast, particularly Milla Jovovich superb as the sultry superspy Milady. "modern language" fairly witty script and so on. Not a masterpiece of cinema, but a couple of hours of stupid fun.

Saw All is Lost last night with an OLD Robert Redford.

Someone earlier mentioned this. It was well filmed but the character was weak. At no point did he seemed unduly worried when faced with leaks and capsizes, nor enthusiastic when trying to catch the attention of passing ships.

Re-watched the Piranha remake,a very gory if not humorous movie, not one of the greats but a good popcorn kind of film.

Re-watched Hatchet 3,a big fan of the franchise and this is no exception, very gory.

You're straying dangerously close to B Movie territory with these. I thought you hated them?

Tried, and failed, to watch Hansel and Gretel: Witchunters last night.

Utterly abysmal. Got to about half way and realised it wasn't going to get any better so gave up. The SFX on the witches were quite good, but that's really about it. Shonky accents, acting and direction knackered the film.

2/10 which would have been 1, but the witches scored an extra point.

The Verdict - an oldie but goodie with an ageing Paul Newman playing an ageing alcoholic ambulance-chasing lawyer taking on a powerful Church-backed hospital whose doctors have screwed up and turned his client 'into a vegetable'. Against all advice he refuses to settle, and fights against all the odds....You'll never guess what happens. But it's a cracker, not least for the central performance. Also an excellent co-starring role for Charlotte Rampling.
