Have you seen The Predator? Awful.

No. Just watched the trailer and it does look awful

Jigsaw Man

A 1983 spy film loosely based on the story of Kim Philby, looks a bit dated but still a decent watch with a good cast including -

Michael Caine
Laurence Oliver
Charles Gray
Robert Powell
And the lovely Susan George

6/10.

Where the Crawdads Sing 7/10

A murder/romance with a few interesting variations on the standard theme. The cinematography was superb, never has a swamp looked so attractive. The plot may have been a little thin at times, but an enjoyable couple of hours.

Recommended with a few reservations

Having just read a book about Philby I thought this might be worth a watch, so I looked it up on wiki. The guy's name "Philip Kimberly" made me think at first maybe it would be quite closely based on fact, but the rest of the synopsis sounds utterly bonkers.

Then I got to the bit about "uncredited appearances from Max Bygraves and Arthur Negus" and my mind boggled.

I'm going to have to watch it now.

The Terminator.

A killer robot is sent back from the future. It's mission, to act badly but with decent weapons drills.

The concept and script are excellent, as is Michael Biehn, but it was done on a seriously tight budget - it was lucky to get made at all - and as a consequence has aged very badly.

6/10.

It was so loosely based that if it hadn't been pointed out to you you'd never have noticed. 😂

If you went back in time, with good intentions, to erase this shonky, badly-acted mediocre movie, then T2 - possibly the best action-SF movie ever made - would also cease to be.

And then *I* would have to go back in time to murder the child Drago.

Hmm. You can see how these things escalate ...
