The last of this week's, 'what junk can you find on Prime?'

An Uwe Boll film about a larger woman who's half vampire and hates nazis. During WWII she fights with the resistance in a real WTF have I just watched kind of film.

Hilariously entertaining if you like that sort of thing.

7/10.

I think that's the lowest score I've ever seen on imdb. By a margin. ^_^

The Quiller Memorandum

From one of those really thick 1970s eurospy airport novels like The Holcroft Covenant or The Bourne Identity.
Something about resurgent Nazis but I fell asleep.
Recomended if you need to fall asleep.

The Wrong Missy (Netflix)

Guy dates two women - one bat-**** crazy and the other a great personality with looks. Both are called Missy and Guy invites the "great looks" one on holiday with him but sends the invite to the former by mistake.

Pretty awful film with all the usual scenario's unfolding in predictable ways but rescued as a watchable movie by Lauren Lapkus' turn as the deranged girlfriend.

Surely the good looking one is batshoot crazy and the other is plain looking but great personality. By the end of the movie our protagonist learns a valuable life lesson. Hugs all round. Geez I should become a Hollywood scriptwriter.

You could be onto something there, I can't imagine that anyone's come up with such slushy sentimental stuff like that before. 😂

I really pushed the boat out on yesterday's misery binge..

All clicked blind without the usual tireless IMDB research to check the titles are worthy of my time, thanks to my immediate need for distraction.

1. The Beast - Italian Netflix effort following the usual "kid of a dysfunctional ex-state-sponsored-killing-machine gets kidnapped" trope. Typical fighty-action flick that passed the time, nowt special, no big twist at the end. Bit meh.

2. Mosul - "Based on true events" about a group of ex-Iraqi police hunting down the remaining members of ISIS / Daesh in the city during the group's retreat / defeat. A brutal and sobering contrast to the sanitised hollywood violence / happy endings all-round format of the one above, well worth a watch IMO.

3. Kill Me Three Times - Australian "black comedy" / "film noir" with Simon Pegg. Reasonably entertaining if not great.. I loved Pegg in Spaced but this seems to be yet another example to back up the suggestion that he's never made a decent film.

4. Jack Reacher - Tom Cruise once again typecast as a smug intuitive twat with a fighty background sorting the world out. Reasonably engaging / entertaining; Cruise adds little IMO, unlike the perpetually appealing Rosamund Pike.

Hoping to have a little tidy today to make myself feel better than will see what else I can find to escape from life again later..
