You do right there.

After Andy's post I sought it out on Netflix this afternoon hoping for a 'so bad it's good' experience, it was just poo.

Yeah, it doesn't get anywhere near that accolade. I'm genuinely surprised it wasn't made by The Asylum, who are close to Uwe Boll when it comes to dreadful films.

Brawl in Cell Block 99 (2017)......Vince Vaughn, Don Johnson....very violent in parts and I mean a very violent film at times, was it good, not really, its a strange film, its a stupid film, some of the story is just nonsensical but it is worth a watch, a one time watch but still worth it...6/10

Vince Vaughn is a hopeless actor as it is, but I'd have a seriously difficult time believing he was hard. He couldn't pull that attitude off in True Detective and I doubt he ever will.

Payback.

Mel Gibson managing to go a whole film without being drunk or saying anything antisemitic. Shame, because that would have livened up an otherwise turgid film. The only good point was having Bill Duke of Predator fame in the film. However, Bill Duke is 6'5" and Gibson is 4'17", yet in the scenes they share Gibson is as tall as then towering Duke. Platform soles? Stood on a box? Duke stood in a whole?

Formulaic rubbish. 2/10.

Cowboys and Aliens.

During the ad break I nipped out for a quick Forest Gump. The by product of this was more entertaining, smelled better, and was frankly a better actor.

0/10 - what was Daniel Craig thinking when he read the original paycheque?

Darkman.

Over stylised comic book tale starring Liam Neeson. It was OK, reasonably watchable, relying as it does more on acting, plot and atmospherics than modern over CGI'd equivalents.

It would be a 6/10, but a brief (and uncredited) cameo with Jenny Agutter in a nurses uniform instantly elevates it to 9/10, because that's the sort of shallow, testosterone laden film critic I am.

Is that the sacrilegious remake of Point Blank? It's an appalling act of lésé majesté as well, if so. Lee Marvin, Gibson is not.

I quite enjoyed it. Sometimes idiotic brainless films are fun.

You're talking at crossed purposes.
Darkman has Jenny Agutter in.
Payback does not.

No we're not. We were both talking about darkman - I was just surpised I'd forgotten that Jenny Agutter was in Darkman. Usually I remember such things.
