I, Daniel Blake.

Ken Loach doing what Ken Loach does.
Some parallels with Cathy Come Home.

I think Dave John aka Daniel could have roughed his role up a bit, sometimes he wasn't so convincing.

Quite a bit of unscripted and improvisation going on too.

Still enjoyed it though.

Filmed in my hometown which added interest for me.

Went to see Dunkirk. 10/10 A must see!!
Excellent way of filming and thought the 3 different timelines for the 3 different aspects worked very well.

Mrs Benb decided on the most recent Fantastic 4.
My expectations were low, seeing as the film holds an impressive 9% on Rotten Tomatoes.
It really wasn't as bad as that. Miles Teller is engaging and does his best with wooden dialogue and a cliche-ridden script.
Don't get me wrong, it's not a good film, but not as terrible as you might think.

3½ /10

Just been to watch Dunkirk.

What a brilliant movie. Harry styles did good but the movie wasn't focused on a single lead actor but spread across the many actors

Green Inferno - 6/10

Pretty good as these survival horror efforts go, which you'd expect from Eli Roth and if nothing else the gore is very well done even if the plot is spread ludicrously thin.

The set up for the sequel was incredibly annoying so I took off a point.

Kong - Skull Island - 8/10

A Delightful monster romp - which set's itself up nicely for sequels - including a Kong v Godzilla movie

Must have had a pretty big budget too - Samuel L Jackson managed to do most of the film - without being killed off

The Accused. A fairly leaden and pedestrian treatment of an unpleasant but hardly cinematic incident, with Jodie Foster as a rape victim and Kelly McGillis as the Assistant DA who's gonna get her justice even if she has to take on her (male) bosses to do it. Yeah. I was amazed subsequently to discover that Foster won the best actress Oscar - Hollywood congratulating itself on its enlightenment, as per...the performance is adequate at best. I suppose it was ok, but I wouldn't give it more than 6, and that's pretty generous.

Despicable Me 3, with the kids.
It was an acceptable film for an adult to sit through and the kids likd it. I have seen far worse, the cinema was rammed at 2 in the afternoon on Thursday.

The Lego Batman Movie

I didn't enjoy it as much as the original Lego Movie - this seemed to be all Batman and no Lego, a weak story and only a few laughs. However, mentioned this to some friends earlier, and apparently I'm completely wrong, so don't let me put you off.
