Early Ben Wheatley film about a criminal family, and how paranoia and their own dysfunction destroys them. Great performances, and some really stylish direction.

Dinosaur 13 - 9/10

I love dinosaurs and archaeology so I was always going to enjoy this, but even if I didnt it's an incredible documentary. It's the story of the discovery of the most complete T-Rex ever, and the controversy surrounding it which is so baffling it beggars belief. To be honest, if I hadn't lived in the USA and know how daft it can be (first hand, I got ticketed for a lot of strange things) I probably wouldn't have believed it.

Jerry Maguire. 4/10. I have been meaning to watch this film for a long time as it appears on a lot of "best film" lists.

Probably their most overlooked film. It really is a belter and one of my favourites by them.

Spielberg film with Tom Hanks.

Found it to be a very enjoyable and atmospheric watch - amazing really as I think much of Hollywood's output is dire.

I saw Ender's Game in the pictures and though it rather good, asking some quite good questions, and fairly true to the book too. maybe 7 or 8 out of 10.

2010: The Year We Made Contact. A sequel to 2001 A Space Odyssey, made in 1984 from an Arthur C Clarke script, and a film I had never heard of. HAL comes back to life ... that voice! 'Hello ... Dave ...' (Yes, Dave's in it too.) Weirdly clunky futuristic technology, unsurprising I suppose given that it's over 30 years old, but an interesting curiosity I thought. The ending was a bit of a let-down, but then the monolith makes a last-frame appearance ...

I think it's a cracking film... and it ends far better than 2001 did
