John Wick.
No deep plot, just kill kill kill the baddies...and they deserved it, they killed his dog .
Good non stop action, enjoyed it for what it is.:okay:

Cracking film, they're making a second one.

Dubbed French conspiracy thriller, animated a bit like a black and white "A Scanner Darkly". I thought it was good, but the fairly high concept style might be a bit much for some.

Centurion

Gory Roman thriller from Neil Marshall. Great cast, and enjoyable enough (if that's the right word), but not a patch on Marshall's Dog Soldiers, imo.

'La Rançon de la gloire' ('The Price of Fame') - a French comedy inspired by the true story of two migrants who dug up Charlie Chaplin's coffin and held his remains for ransom in the 70s.

Sadly, it was pretty dull and unfunny. One to avoid if you're ever tempted to watch it.

Goodnight and Good Luck. A favourite project of George Clooney, who was very good in it. An account of CBS's and Ed Murrow's 1950s TV run-in with Senator McCarthy, shot in black and white to accommodate fascinating real footage from the time. It's a really well crafted film with a lot to say that resonates today, and I enjoyed it a lot, but it didn't have quite the depth I was expecting somehow.
I enjoyed this. It is very short also, perhaps they could have done with being a little longer.

I quite enjoyed it, though I'm not sure I'd describe it as a comedy. But then I'm never sure about French 'comedy' films. All that springs to mind that's made me laugh out loud is Diner de Cons* which is genuinely hilarious, most other funny stuff is surreal and somewhat oblique.

*remade, badly, as Dinner for Schmucks. I wish I'd not bothered with it.

The Program with Ben Foster playing Lance Armstrong, I enjoyed it.
Got round to watching it with my 12 year old son last night in DVD. Had planned on going with him to the cinema but the 15 classification put a halt to that.

Really enjoyed it too. Had previously read the Walsh's book which was fascinating but seeing the scenes with the blood transfusions really put it into perspective what they were up to.
