What film did you watch last night?

Oblivion - got to the 30 minute mark before remembering that interesting programme on leaf pressing that I had been meaning to watch.

Narc. Ray Liotta and Jason Patric. Saw this gritty cop drama many years ago and got the DVD from oxfam the other day. As good as I remember and completely forgot about the shock ending. 8/10

The Lady in the Van. Maggie Smith is just wonderful, so subtile and utterly believeable. Normally during films my mind wanders and I tend to tune out for a bit, but this had my full attention from the first scene.

Hitchcock. Ok I guess, but never really terribly compelling. Interesting in a kind of documentary way, showing how close Psycho came to never getting made, and to, when made, being 'stillborn'.

Creed - 7/10

Another strong entry in the Rocky series. Great performances all round, excellent fight sequences and really clever use of one of cinemas most iconic musical themes. Had some really nice nods to previous films without being too nostalgic.

I did laugh when the announcer claimed 100,000 people were in Goodison Park (capacity 40,000) for the final fight. There's also a hospital scene featuring a pamphlet on "Siffilis" which sounds like a nasty condition...

Having a Mel Gibson moment... Braveheart (8/10) Sunday night, The passion of the Christ (8/10) last night, may as well go for the trilogy later tonight with Apocalypto.
