Behind the Candelabra - moving and funny film about showmanship, excess, and a dysfunctional and destructive relationship. 8/10. Watched it on BBC iPlayer.

Fairly typical of the genre piece about two young people terrorised on a trip to a remote rural location. Nice choices of locaton & claustrophobia coming from them being trapped in their car on tiny narrow lanes, but ultimately, the premise doesn't hold up, as I still, by the end of the film, had no idea why the giggling nutter was pursuing them.

I've had that recorded for ages, but never got round to watching it.

Am I wasting my time if I want to watch a typical war film?

If you're a Tarantino fan you'll enjoy it. Otherwise I'd probably not bother.

There are only a couple of scenes which really stood out for me - if you asked me what actually happened beyond them, I'd not be able to tell you.

Depends what you mean by 'typical' too. War films cover a pretty broad spectrum!

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Exodus: gods and kings starring Christian Bale. Sadly another film that relies on CGI to make it watchable. Then again, its been done so many times before, they can hardly make the story any different or better than has already been done. Dont expect any surprises.

I never managed to work that out either! And why did they keep following the same bloody sign!

The only one of his I've been able to watch all the way through is Pulp Fiction.

I was thinking along the lines of Memphis Belle, Where Eagles Dare, Saving Private Ryan, etc.
