...or mentioning in passing that the secret base's power plant is ever so slightly vulnerable and could go into overdrive/meltdown/hyperblast and destroy the entire secret island from which all dastardly deeds will be launched.
And no one noticed the thousands of workers and tons of concrete, steel, electronics, that it took to build said lair in a volcano.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Felt like I was a kid again watching Star Wars for the first time... but only because this is almost an exact carbon copy of the original. Same plot, same characters, same everything. Bring back George Lucas!

That's how it's supposed to be. The three trilogies are essentially the same story told through different generations of characters.

Went to see it this afternoon... yup.. the plot was very familiar, but that didn't stop it from being a very enjoyable movie. Can't think of anything i hated about it (unlike that 90s trilogy of prequels... those disasters demonstrate that George Lucas should stay well away!!)

Or, as anyone who's biding their time before watching the latest instalment, memories of the prequels uppermost in their minds might say, "Keep George Lucas as far away from this as you can."

Anyroad, I watched "It Follows".

I liked it a lot - some lovely cinematography, an interesting premise, and all rather well executed
I really like the idea of the creature/revenant/whatever the hell it is being a more or less normal person just plodding towards you, a conceit that has you watching the frame nervously throughout
.

I also finally got around to the "The Guard", which is bloody great.

Bride Wars was on this afternoon, I had to watch it just in case there was a single laugh....... There wasn't. I'll give it 1, only because I have never seen a 0 (apologies to Clint Eastwood for trashing one of his film quotes)
