Human Centipede 3 - 3/10

The most offensive thing about this trilogy is that it really isn't very good. It's a disgusting concept which has real potential, but so poorly realised that the horror comes across as comical, rather than perverse. The second film is easily the most awful but that seems to have happened more by accident than design.

umm, given your comments why on earth did you end up watching all three?

I've not watched any by the way, so a have nothing but predjudice to go on

Two movies:
The Program
Sicario

The Program is a movie I've really been looking forward to watching since I first heard about it. Of course we are all cycling fans but I think most of you probably arent Lance Armstrong fans. However, I still am.

The movie probably could have been enjoyed by someone even if they know little about cycling but I couldnt help thinking that you'd get a lot more out of this movie if you already knew about LA's story.

Anyway, regardless of whether you're a fan or not, I think most people in cc would enjoy this one. You'd probably enjoy it even more if you re NOT his fan. Check it out.

And Sicario. I was in the mood to watch a movie with action, and sun (hey, I was on holiday!). I didn't think I'd like the movie as much as I did. I can see how it could possibly be better value if it just went straight a rental format and forego a cinema release, but really, I rather enjoyed it and loved the dramatic sound effects which were simple but got me to the edge of my seat at certain scenes

Somewhat thought provoking but mainly action and suspense, I reckon its a good watch if there isn't anything else on at the time of your cinema visit.

Edit: I can see, instead of I can't see.

There isn't a straightforward answer to that question to be honest. Like every dreadful film I've watched, I'm glad I have in a way because I feel I can truly appreciate great film making.

As awful as they are, they aren't even close to House of the Dead, which remains the only film I've ever walked out of.

What a perfect film for a hungover Sunday afternoon. 8/10

Just watched one of those complicated scammer-scammed con job movies, called Cash. As usual, I didn't have clue what was going on, from start to finish. Quite enjoyed it even so. It was French...had a sort of Stella Artois ad aesthetic going on. Tres cool. If baffling.

The Hunters. Old school mid-90's Scandi-noir from back before Scandi-noir was Scandi-noir and when there was no bridge to feature in The Bridge.

I hear Hollywood tried and failed to make a remake

I hear there's a sequel made a long time afterwards, by which time the lead had left Stockholm, gone to Ystad and changed his name to Wallander.

Very small gene pool for Scandi casting directors to draw on. Gets confusing sometimes.

I watched Taxi driver about a year ago for the first time - what a load of drivel, a complete waste of time !

An office co-worker of mine would have heart palpitations if he heard you say that. He's a Taxi Driver movie Nazi. Just like Beatles Nazi's, no one is allowed to say that it/they are rubbish or you're not allowed to like it/them. Funnily enough, he's also a Beatles Nazi

Dag och Natt (Day and Night) - very, very dark Swedish movie. Very dark. Jebus it was grim.
and
Haeven (trans Revenge in Danish but marketed as In A Better World in English) 2011 best foreign Oscar. Completely deserved it imo. Brilliant little movie.
