Introduced my daughter to harry and the hendersons. Brought back some childhood memories and she loved it

Scored an 8/10 just for the nostalgic value

Jeebus, DOA, I'd almost completely forgotten about that disaster.

You know your film is terrible when Dennis Rodman turns down a role that was written for him!

watched "rise of the footsoldier". A bleak, very violent, very very sweary british gangster film, based on fact apparently. Outstanding, particularly the acting and dialogue. And I speak as someone who doesn't like violent films as a rule nor (gratuitous) swearing. Here it was all in context and highly believable. A million miles from the romanticised gangsters of the Godfather or Goodfelas, great though these may be as cinema

Julie & Julia - enjoyable in a gentle, lo-impact sort of a way. Interesting to see Meryl Streep playing a fluffy, happy-go-lucky sort of role, in contrast to her usual icy intensity. Post-war Paris was very well evoked....and the food looked great!

Footsoldier is a definite stand out in that genre. Properly good and doesn't come across as the fantasies of someone who read a story about hooliganism once.

The Firm and I.D. will always have the top two spots, but Footsoldier is a close third. I'd recommend both if you've not seen them.

Here for rides.
Jeremiah Johnson. Robert Redford in a hobo beard, killing dozens of native Americans, on a kill-or-be-killed basis. Apparently based on a true story.

Last Man Standing - Bruce Willis, highly under rated film, for me its an excellent film....

Agree !

A brave thing to try - a remake of Fistfull of Dollars - which is a masterpiece and, as any fule no, Dollars is a remake of Youjimbo - another masterpiece from Kurosawa, arguably the director with a higher "masterpiece count" than anyone. Ironically Youjimbo, a samurai film, is itself based on a cowboy story.

Anyhow Last Man Standing is very good indeed even in comparison with the two Greats above
