In the loop.

Some fabulous swearing was involved.

Witchfinder General

A suitably villainous Vincent Price, and gore that suggests local ketchup shops sold enough on filming days to close early for the day. If it has a flaw, I think it's that Vincent Price rather overshadows everyone else, making them seem a bit bland.

Although the above.is a bit.of a cult classic in some eyes, I think it's of its time and dated. "Theatre of Blood" or the two "Dr Phibes" films are Vincent Price at his glorious self-parodying best. Particularly pleasing in the former are the grotesque Shakespeare inspired murders - especially so as they choose the more obscure plays like Titus rather than the obvious ones.

"KUNG FURY is an over-the-top action comedy written and directed by David Sandberg. The movie features: arcade-robots, dinosaurs, nazis, vikings, norse gods, mutants and a super kung fu-cop called Kung Fury, all wrapped up in an 80s style action packed adventure"

Absolutely superb 30 short film, and well worthy of it's 8.5 rating on IMDB
on your recommendation, i found it and watched it... great stuff...in fact at 30 minutes, it's a perfect parody.

Phibes is head and shoulders above, for sure. But I enjoyed Witchfinder, nonetheless.

Read the book. Some of the stuff Marks got up to was unbelievable.

I went to a talk of his in Newcastle, pre smoking ban. Everyone seemed really hungry and vacant by the end. Can't think why...

Cheech and chongs up in smoke for real..another of my favoirte all time films

We had Django on Netflix last night. Tarantino takes more chances than most directors. The KKK scene was a sorry attempt at humour in the context but I saw a reference to the spaghetti westerns, Peckinpah and even Gone with the Wind so in the end it was good. The acting from de Capreo and that German guy was astounding and S,L Jackson was caught in a parody of himself and a really evil character.

Tarantino desperately needs someone to stand up to him, imo. The films of his I've seen post Jackie Brown are a mixture of interesting ideas and preposterous chuff that should never have got onto the shooting schedule. I think I'm in a minority, but I yawned my way through Kill Bill, and detested Inglorious Basterds. I have Django on "my list" but just don't know if I can be bothered, frankly.
