Cinema tonight, Stones For The Rampart.
WW2 , Warsaw, the Polish resistance.
Meh, I dont know...it was ok, a bit too much mundane in the first half, perhaps that was deliberate..portraying how 'ordinary people' came to carry out heroic deeds.
It was ok, but seen much better films on the subject or of that genre. The torture scenes were quite well done TBF.

Let the Right One In.One of the most beautiful and stunning vampire movies ever made. The original not the unecessary remake.

And another horror classic,Scanners.Gory and brilliant.

If by 'film', you mean the EPIC destruction of Ottawa by the Montreal Canadiens, then that's what I watched!

I've been feeling rather Canadian throughout these playoffs. Unfortunately, the Canadiens are down 1-0 to Ottawa at the minute.

2 Fast, 2 Furious.

Inspired by Filmspotting's recent look at the series, I thought I'd watch some of these - I don't have the first on the DVR, so I started here.

So, pretty sexist, occasionally racist (in that casual sort of way that the "funny" bits in Transformers 2 are) and with a weird, over the top machismo throughout. I hated it for the first half or so, but the latter part of the film (where they focus more on the "missions" and action movie elements rather than the street racing) won me over. Paul Walker and Tyrese make pretty good leads, and unlike some other big budget, low plot actioners, I actually began to be invested in their fate. So, not bad, overall; I'm not sure I can be bothered with Tokyo Drift, but I may watch the fourth film (both of those are on the DVR).

It's weird to see gear changes filmed in the way that the elements of a fight, or gun battle might be filmed in a more conventional action film.

I used to watch it avidly at the time, but it was frustratinlgy poor even at the time. The contemporary Dr who was hugely superior albeit only really for geeks like me when seen again now
It has its moments though, I think. Of course, it also has episodes like the Tanith Lee penned one (which I forget the name of) and The Web.

Northern Soul.
Out of place, quiet 70s kid from the grim North finds his place and friends through Northern Soul dancing.
Some great music and tracks, loved that. The desire to find THAT track drives them on and on, sometimes descending into drugs and lawlessness, typically 70s violent at times (i'm a 70s kid, it could be bad...but was it really THAT bad, you'd think so watching almost any film portraying that period).
Good film, enjoyed it, great music.

Jack Reacher

Surprisingly good, given that I don't like Tom Cruise.

8/10

I really liked it too. The plot was clever, and the fights were pretty good.

I saw The Theory of Everything. Tragic yet inspiring. I can't remember the last film that made me cry.
