Books plot simply not enough for three movies, regardless of what the industry thinks.A good box office, could have been great with tighter editing. Just my opinion.

You are correct. Had it been done as a pair of films it would have been far better and nowhere near as long winded. Might have actually captured the tone of the book as well. Swingannamiss from Mr Jackson.

To make up for it I sought out the original Taking Of Pelham 123. It's a brilliant thriller, and vastly superior to the woeful remake I endured, where apparently the word '**********er' is an acceptable substitute for acting ability.

Thanks to those who pointed me in the right direction.

The classic Titfield Thunderbolt.Every movie from the Ealing studios was sheer class.

High Plains Drifter. Kwaliddy stuff, beautifully shot too in classic western stylee.
that reminds me, I watched The Good, The Bad & The Ugly on new years day. bought the double disc DVD a few months ago, watched all the extras but didn't quite get round to watching the movie as I've seen it umpteen times, its very long and potentially a bit of a chore... but i realised that even filling the best part of three hours, it's always a pleasure, never a chore.

Watched the dark knight. Thought it was great and reminded me of some of the darker batman graphic novels I read 20 years ago
