Double header for us this weekend, The Blockheads tomorrow.

They'll be back in 6 months. One day we will end up at the Musician at the same time. :okay:
Here's a clip of Steve with the DTs when Steve Marriott briefly joined the band (The clip posted was by Steve Walwyn himself)
It would have been good to see him if only to confirm he was planning on doing LEJoG again (be his 3rd time) as part of his 60th birthday celebrations (I was talking to a friend of his from Leamington a week ago and she said he was)

Love this. My elder brothers vast collection included lots of S&G, this track always seemed upbeat, quirky and fun.

Mortiis - Demons are Back

I'm seeing them tomorrow at The Cluny and thoroughly looking forward to it. Interesting chap, the lead singer Håvard Ellefsen, started his musical career as the bassist and song writer for black metal legends Emperor before deciding he wasn't really into that style any more and came up with the far more diverse sounding Mortiis.

I'm surprised and pleased to see them at The Cluny. But the venue does chuck up some awesome gigs - I saw Earth there last year; didn't believe the poster when I saw it, it took 2 bar staff and confirmation from the band to convince me! Similarly The Dwarves many years ago, but they were disappointing - barely coherent and mostly unable to play because they were all wasted. I think I left half way through.

Texas leg end Freddie King, been listening to the Shelter years LPs, Leon Russell's label, probs a bit too funky for a some purists but I likes it. Any road up this is from his first Shelter LP, it's pretty darn good.

Whilst I was on holiday I picked up a 3 CD set of Everly Brothers tracks. I ripped them to the computer, converted them to a single playlist, ditched several tracks I didn't like and merged the playlist with another smaller one I already had, I now have a 65 track Everly Brothers play list that now has been put on the MP3 player as well.:music:
