I've just endured Anaal Nathrak's latest effort, Desideratum. Took a couple of listens to understand it, and in the end I'm still not convinced. Bit light for my tastes I think. It'll get another airing at work tomorrow, sitting in an office listening to filth like this always sharpens the opinion.

I've long thought Willie Nelson was a great songwriter but a shíte singer and these days he's just a duets whore, however watching the BBC4 country music prog the other night there was a great clip of WN in the early 70s (the decade not his age) so I thought I'd revisit him, so to speak, and give it a serious go concentrating on that period of his music before his voice goes all weak and wavery. This period brings up his Atlantic recordings, basically 2 albums; Shotgun Willie and Phases and Stages, this one is from SW and although it was written by Johnny Bush, a great Texan country singer it's a good version. Enjoying the LP so far, it's rather good.

Seen this @Delftse Post, 12 albums on 6 discs for less than a tenner, astonishingly good value, and the finest duet merchants until Bowie and Jagger redefined the genre with Dancing in the Street.

I heard her do a version of Five Years on a radio session the other week and have been listening to her since but to keep Hank a swivellin' here's a shambolic version of Rambling Man by Liz Green...

A recent TV program about Queen Hits, to much waffle not enough music, had me thinking, I haven't played their stuff for ages, so when I got home I fired up the computer and put on the album Sheer Heart Attack.
