Perfectly possible to do all your shopping by bike unless you have a large family. I do.
The more I read the contrary rubbish that comes out of @Accy cyclist mouth, the more I'm convinced he's a troll. I mean no body would be so selfish as to knowingly endanger others by driving when they know they shouldn't right? Or silly enough to keep a dog in a warden controlled flat and thus endanger their new tenancy when he has no alternatives available to him when it goes tits up. Right?

I can read a plate at the required legal distance. It's the peripheral vision,depth and distance judjment that are the problems.

Maybe you could write to the authorities and tell them that i'm partially sighted but intend to drive and see what they say I think their attitude ill be one of "oh well,so what".
But that doesn't make it alright does it?
If you are using a walking stick to feel your way around then surely even you can understand that driving a car is not practical, it's very selfish and down right dangerous, not only to you but to others.

You have to appreciate that i'm on a loser here. I seriously think nothing will be done till i cause an accident. I've told them that i have crap eye sight but they keep passing the buck. If i was to cause an accident and it went to court the question would arise of why was this man allowed to drive with such poor eye sight. Maybe it would even bring about a change in the law? I've said that i can't see things outside my immediate field of vision. I've said that i can't judge the distance of vehicles coming my way. Yet i'm allowed to drive by law. That' not right but that's how it is unfortunately.
Once again. It doesn't make it alright. I don't care if you are on to a loser. Suck it up and live with it, take some responsibility for your actions. You will be a danger and I hope someone shops you to the police. You could kill someone, a mother, a father, a child. All down to your downright stupidity and selfishness.
Pedestrians and cyclists have enough to deal with on the road without having to deal with the likes of you.
