I'm relieved i'm not doing the TT. I had my first outdoor ride in the UK since September. I've got burnt lung cough now. It was cold for our local 7TT. I had few panicky niggles, seat titled forward whilst warming up, selected inner ring to spin legs and then couldn't get big ring afterwards( manually forced). A quick shout round got the seat done a minute before my start. Reasonably pleased with my time because it put me right in the mix of my age group of riders and quicker(small amount) than some chaps Iv'e never beaten before. More tweeking of position, remembering not to go too hard early, cadence work.
My first real test will be April 24th (https://translate.google.com/transl...t/2018-campione-chrono-cup&edit-text=&act=url)
A short TT with a nasty hill right at the start. The usual advice not to go too hard from start does not apply here. It's straight to dark red zone :surrender:

Btw, I'm not to be found in the starting list becase I'm signing up at race day.

8.7km, just over 5 miles! God thats pretty much balls out sprint. You'll need a good warm up Lars to be ready for the intense start. Good luck

Andy why not give Cambridge TT a crack? Seems ideal for you mate honestly.

I'm still dialing in my position Tommy, I also need to work on strength with lower cadence, I lose speed when trying to cycle with higher cadence, my heart rate holds my power back. A few more outings and training before I have confidence to enter such a big event.

Thanks Andy. Bringing out the TT bike from hibernation today and will probably do the first ride tomorrow.
I'm also planing of doing some of my commutes on the TT bike. Should be interesting to compare my commuter with mud gards, lights, backpack and too comfy position - generally an aerodynamic disaster - against my TT bike.

Wow! Sure beats some socks and cake. I'll eat some extra pasta in Peterborough as a kind of tribute to those CycleChat brothers who couldn't make it.
