I'll check my bank again tomorrow Jim and update - it was only showing what had cleared yesterday so will probably be showing up tomorrow .

Anyway the order's in and I've sent them payment so I'm looking forward to seeing how they turn out. I'm also hoping I don't regret going for a medium so will be on half-rations of food for the next few weeks!!

What size is your white rapha jersey mate? I’m going off the premise that I’m a large in rapha clssic jersey if I want a snug fit. And the measurement look very similar to our club jersey.

SRAM Etap is completely wireless. Apparently sram have patent on the battery on the front and rear mech which is slowing the other two down in their attempts to go completely wireless.
Now I would dearly love to be able to change your gears by my phone !
Thanks for putting me right

According to my bike mechanic, who has worked on everything and anything out there, SRAM eTap is the way to go for a really nice clean finish. The other two spoil it with that thin electric wire, even if you can hide it way. Other than that he reckons there isn't much to choose from them, what they do, they do really well, with the bonus of never having to worry about a snapped gear cable (Which is how we got talking about said subject when he was replacing mine) ... although you do run the risk of a flat battery. I should be able to find out what all the fuss is about in 30 days 12 hours (I'm not counting!) when I pick up my BH machine (BH G6 PRO di2-U) in Mallorca

My level of dedication is only at the 105 and Rival equipment level. I do have a Red chain I'm putting on the 105 bike. I just googled it and one site said the Sram 11 speed chain isn't compatible. Anyone else try this? My Rival bike is 10 speed.

That’s correct Randy. 11 speed chains are slightly narrower, to allow more chainrings in the rear cassette. It should still work fine though.

Regarding the difference between mechanical groupsets the differences are often very small. 105 is excellent in my opinion. It uses heavier components than ultegra and Dura ace but it works fantastically well.

I think di2 looks a lot cleaner if you find a way to hide the bits and peices. And heat shrink the electric cable and rear brake cable together. But I know what you mean. Etap wins for me at the mo. But like you say there’s not really much in it. I’m putting etap on a Colnago which is still difficult for some to take but I think we’re past that now really.

Tommy there is actually no difference in sprocket spacing. When you fit a 10sp Cass on an 11 speed hub, you fit a 1.5mm spacer on the inside. shifting will be fine except one less gear

It's a large  - but not overly snug (honest:rolleyes:)

BUT I compared Rapha sizing to theirs and it was a bit smaller if both are to be believed. Oh well - it's an incentive to get a bit slimmer - and if it's a bit on the tight size at least it'll be a bit more aero!

There is a difference mate. The spacing is narrower on 11 speed cassettes to allow to get 11 speeds in. It’s isnt that the extra sprocket is the equivalent to 1.5mm and that’s the difference. Don’t forget you have to allow for the spaces between sprockets too. The reason it doesn’t matter which chain you use is because the 11 speed chain is only narrower on the outside. The inside measurement is still the same. This allowing the chain to fit into a smaller space created for 11 speed but still be compatible 10 speed.

Your building it for you and your riding it, does it really matter which groupset you use
