Catching up on earlier discussion about how to ride the TOC Sportive - I'm also keen to ride as a group if possible, but I would also like to go at a reasonably good pace! It seems like a good opportunity to do both as it's closed roads. It's relatively flat too, so that should lend itself to drafting in a group - if anyone's struggling at all, they can just sit in the draft and let those with a bit more energy do the work on the front!
I think that should be the plan anyway - as we all know, best laid plans sometimes go out of the window on the day for all sorts of reasons so if that happens we'll just make it up as we go along.
There's 3 pit stops - apart from needing the loo (an inevitability with me I'm afraid!) I wouldn't think we'd need to stop at all of these for food would we? Bill, Adam and I didn't even stop at all the pit stops on the DD, and this is "only" 79 miles - on my own I would probably manage that distance with a couple of gels and maybe an energy bar if I'm well fed beforehand.
Having said that, if some people want to take it a bit more leisurely with plenty of stops, that's completely fair enough and we can do our own thing and meet up before and after
