My Morrison's has rubbish/no reception. It annoyes me when I get to the till and open up the App to scan my More card, you have to be connected to activate the offers. So I have to try and remember to activate them all before I go to the shop

Our local Boots was closed for a day because of an IT problem where their Tills couldn't communicate with the Mothership.
I rest my case - !

I always use the in store scanners rather than the app

They are specifically designed for the job - and will always be more effective than an app - IMO

not tried the ASDA one yet

and we don't even have a Waitrose - can't think why?????

Screen print it beforehand so it's saved in the photo gallery. Lidls app does not need a connection to show the card.

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
Used to enjoy Waitrose, wander in, spend a tenner and get free coffee and a copy of the Times. Not one anywhere near where we now live 'up north'.

They have dropped that £10 spend offer. Now via website or app they are giving more away, 50p or more off two of six selected items plus a free newspaper each day. Classic for for two weeks was £2 off the Saturday paper plus the paper free anyway!

Puzzle game procrastinator!
I believe that somebody had invented a set of metal tokens that could be used to pay for items in the shop.
Now if only somebody would invent a machine which would help the staff add up the cost of such items!

Which reminds me...

I do not agree. Addition/subtraction/multiplication/division of small numbers is a pretty fundamental skill, even though there is usually technology available to do that job...

I once handed over a £5 note at a cafe to pay my £4.50 bill. The flustered teen at the till couldn't find the shop's calculator to work out much change to give me! (And they asked me nervously if I was really sure that it was 50p when I told them...)
