Oh well if it’s mentioned on “some sites” guilty as charged and I was at specsavers approximately 6 weeks ago and I do follow the news
Oh the irony , a chap that says cav caused the crash telling me I need to go to spec savers,

How come you didn’t break the news here when you read it then? I first read about at around 1 PM UK, so must have had plenty of time…

It wouldn't be the crash as everyone has pointed out was too far back, more likely the shoulder barge earlier on in the battle for a wheel.

Of course I don’t know the exact words exhanged between the commisaires and the team in the bus, and therefore not which violation they/he got a warning for. I’m not sure even the communique goes that much into detail, should we ever see it.

And yet earlier you said….
Wonder why the UCI today visited both Philipsen's and Cavendish's team busses before the stage, and told them that their dangerous manuevers yesterday will be sanctioned going forward.

Did I mention WHICH manuevers?

The 4 commisaires were talking to the team managers at Astana (Zanini and Fofonov) and making swerving movements with their arms and possible showing some video too. That is what the reporter saw with her own eyes, as she tried to get a statement. But they left quickly after and she then went to the commisaires office, which said ”No comments and that the issue would (maybe) be mentioned in the communique after the stage”. The press manager (Nico Dick) from Alpecin came to office as well, so she talked to him where he confirmed the warnings given.

Today was the only day so far that I didn't find really exciting for one reason or another. I suppose Bini in green was cool but after the preceding days it was a bit meh.

Thrillsville TT tomorrow. It's Rrrrrremco time!

Or maybe Vingo. Or even Pog.

Or perhaps someone else.

Odds on for a Remco win, he's been keeping his powder dry so far.

I'm most interested to see how Roglic goes, not least because he's in my fantasy team. He used to be a heck of a TT-er but that day in 2020 up the planche des belle filles probably still haunts him. Would be nice if we get a proper 4 way fight with Remco, Pog, Vin and Rog duking it out in weeks 2 and 3.

I find TT highlights about a boring as a Jameshow post proclaiming the tour is over after stage 1 :okay:, although they are strangely compelling to watch over the course of an afternoon as the action and gaps unwind quite slowly.

Astana's work is very front loaded, 5 of their remaining 7 riders go off in the first 7 on the road, with Cav having the honour of getting the show on the road being first back for a glass of Gevrey-Chambertin.

I find TTs ideal for following by checking the app or website every 5-10 mins.

Some friends of mine watched a TdF TT at the roadside some years ago. They were on a slight downhill. They reported that Cav came freewheeling past, grinning and waving to the crowd like he was out for a Sunday morning tootle. Things got progressively more serious as the day wore on.

Back to today. Weather looks nice

Indeed only about a quarter of the field (GC hopefuls and specialist TT-ers) are trying, the rest treat it as an extra rest day / recovery workout ride - and to be honest why not.

A big thank you for posting that it is a TT day. I too find them a difficult watch so will get out on my bike instead.

May skip watch the highlights later.
