Sometimes we sports fans tend to over-react to things but that news has really put a dampner on my day, such a freak accident too, I think Cav was the only one to hit the tarmac too

Best sprinter I have ever seen by a long shot and I remember the Tashkent Terror!

One of my mates met him when he was behind him in a queue at a petrol station in Dundee. He (not my friend) was buying a Snickers bar.

Move over Carlton, I'm the man for cycling anecdotes...

What on earth was the Tashkent Terror doing in Dundee??? He must have been well relieved to get back to Uzbekistan...........

Aye, he was heard muttering "what a dump". It was after Stage1 of the 1992 Tour of Britain.

Another (not) interesting fact, Ven der Poel's dad finished 2nd on stage 2 which finished in Edinburgh, behind Max Sciandri. Not sure if either them benefitted from buying a Snickers.

Bollo to Mrs Dr Bollo this morning - “Not many retirements in this one so far. We’ve not seen any real peloton dominoes either.” Should have kept my mouth shut. 😞
