That's getting a bit tricky these days. Most companies give a reference with your start and finish dates, job title and salary.
And that's pretty much it.
Or non, if they just shut up up shop.

If you don't want to receive an answer, don't ask a question. Saying 'you are interesting in all of this and I'm not' when you have asked a question about the topic is just plain annoying. Never mind, I'll be moving in a couple of months and I won't have to put up with it. You might have noticed that I am gradually visiting you less and less anyway.

So she has done 26 years excellent service for the company and when she left today there was no card, no collection, not even a goodbye. Not because she has brown skin was it?

That's the most depressing thing I've read since I can't remember. Shame on 'them'.
It goes right through the company, the Production Manager chose to ignore her leaving, her cell leader is a tad racist, and her workmates on her cell all failed to act. Lu and I got her a card and a small bunch of flowers from ourselves.
The Materials Manager is furious, hopefully he will mention it to the Directors (who are away this week) and the Production Manager will get torn a new one for his petty, disrespectful handling of the whole non event.

Here for rides.
I've been in this role for 10 weeks, so I have not a frickin' clue why no frickin' schedule of all our obligations under the contract you signed LAST frickin' YEAR exists. And no I can't produce one by this evening because I don't even have a frickin' copy of the frickin' contract. Even though I've asked you for a copy about ten frickin' times.
