So...you'll accept some/most of the current crop line leaders are poor, they seem incapable of doing the job like guys used to do a few years ago....the female line leaders are much better, more motivated etc etc.
Accepting that, instead of paying minimum wage plus a few bob for all the aggro and responsibility they have, wouldn't it be better to pay a good rate, say £10, expect them to earn it or bring better people through and reward them for a good job ?.
But no....you'll accept poor performance / motivavtion, then employ line helpers to assist them, cos theyre bloody useless, costing another £8 per hour.

See where this is going ?
£10 hr and get/expect good people.
£16 hr and have one poor line leader and a helper who does very little anyway.

Now I'm no businessman.....but the obsession with reducing cost is actually costing you an awful lot more.
