Yes, when I was a carnivore I kept mine in the fridge all the time! 🧐 :okay:

I would never put any unopened tin in the fridge. There isn't enough space there to waste it on things that don't need it.

@Accy cyclist next time break the flap by using the handle of a teaspoon.
I have arthritis in my hands, I find lots of things difficult to open!

I tried that the other day when I tried to open another of those pots, like the one in the opening post of this thread. The plastic pot was so soft compared to the hard plastic supposed opening that it wasn't firm enough to support the handle of the teaspoon as I tried to break the hard seal of the lid. I eventually opened it by using a hard leather glove on my hand to stop any thumb cuts happening!

I love eating mackerel in tomato sauce.Their in those flat shaped tins with a ring pull on them.
Easy enough to open, but the inside of the lid is usually covered in sauce, and just as you get to the last bit of pulling the lid off ,it usually snaps / pings off covering you in the content's. and stinking off fish

Funnily enough, last night as I posted my above yours post I thought of tinned fish being a pain, not so much to open, but for trying to avoid being splattered with tomato sauce, olive oil, sunflower oil etc! I put a dishcloth over such tins to avoid such splatterings! Those ring/pull back tins when full of oil don't tend to splatter you, more no matter how you try to avoid the oil, it always seems to get on the tin's lid then onto your fingers!!!
