With those tins of corned beef or spam, do you twist the metal key to the left or the right to open them?

Following on from the corned beef can, one thing that has always bothered me (as a pedant) is the saying to determine which way to turn a screw - "Lefty loosey, righty tighty".

It isn't "left" or "right" at all, you turn clockwise or anti-clockwise, and no matter which way you turn. Some parts are going left as you look at it, and some are going right.

I think that's a perfect fit for this thread*.

Is that clockwise or anti-clockwise looking down the can or up the can?

Where do UK Donkey Sanctuaries save all these Donkeys from?
The only working donkeys I remember were donkeys giving rides on the beach when I was a kid years and years ago - and I had the idea that that didn't happen much anymore - possibly not at all - possibly even banned?
Are there donkey teams delivering amazon parcels across the northern highlands?

Donkeys are a good dog deterrent in flocks of sheep. But are often not given the same care as the sheep.

Certainly not banned, I saw some earlier in the year on a beach but not that many, only about 6, there used to be herds of them at Skeg Vegas & they knew when it was home time. They would set off home & all the traffic had to stop as they were like Audi drivers & didn't stop for anybody or anything else. Must have been 40-50 of them heading off down the road & round the roundabouts, the Cowboys/Handlers or whatever they were used to follow on bikes, but were left behind, great sight to watch.

There is that theory that you have to do 10,000 hours at something to become a master at. The Beatles were held up as an example because they spent 10,000 hours gigging in Hamburg and other places. Well, didn't Pete Best do his 10,000 hours? They thought he was rubbish, or they just did not like him, or both.
