Bertrand Russell (mathematician, philosopher and peace campaigner) was the grandson of Lord Russell, the British prime minister at the time of the Irish potato famine. What did he think of his grandfather's performance?

Lancaster bombers (and Stirlings and Halifaxes): were they over-manned? The Lancaster had a pilot, navigator, flight engineer, radio operator, bombardier, rear upper gunner and rear gunner. I would have got rid of the rear upper gunner and turret, which would make the plane a bit faster. I would combine the bombardier with the radio operator. That gets the crew down to five. I might try combine the flight engineer' job with the bombardier and the radio operator. That gets the crew down to four. Mosquitoes and Beaufighters got away with a crew of two. Blenheims had three. Fw190 tip and run bombers only had one crew and they still managed to find their target and get back.

Sorry but to my mind not sure it's a joking matter

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAF_B...re aged between,8,325 aircraft lost in action.

In total 364,514 operational sorties were flown and 8,325 aircraft lost in action. Bomber Command aircrews suffered a high casualty rate: of a total of 125,000 aircrew, 57,205 were killed (a 46 percent death rate), a further 8,403 were wounded in action and 9,838 became prisoners of war. Therefore, a total of 75,446 airmen (60 percent of operational airmen) were killed, wounded or taken prisoner. A memorial in Green Park in London was unveiled by Queen Elizabeth II on 28 June 2012 to highlight the heavy casualties suffered by the aircrews during the war.

That may be true. I am honestly surprised the casualties were not higher since they nearly all got shot down. I wonder how many were retired through battle fatigue. That is partly why I think the crews should have been cut down. The upper gunner was look-out and had an extra pair of guns, but his turret was slowing the plane down. The bombardier and the radio operator were underemployed. The heavy bombers had four engines so maybe they needed a flight engineer or co-pilot, but I am not sure. Not saying they were not brave men. I just think they could have been better employed.

Internally, each pin is paired to the one which will meet the same slot when it is turned over. Each of those pairs then goes to a single wire, while the USB-A or USB-B connectors only have one pin per wire.

Ours don't.

Our normal day is Friday, they usually turn up on Saturday after a single BH in the week.

Did those X-ray specs you could order via comics work? I suspected that if they did work the grownups would be very unlikely to let us have them, as adults' one aim in life is to stop children having fun. Therefore, I never ordered a pair.
