S E Lakes - very cold but dry and sunny.

It has been the same here. I did a 30 minute ride and then came back into the warm at home.

It's a pity it was so cold. I would have gone for longer otherwise.

7:00 this morning - I decided to drive in to the office rather than cycle.

Sunny but very cold. No snow in The Lakes yet, at least at low level.

4 inches of snow in Shrewsbury today, blizzards this morning led to the usual gridlock for a couple of hours. Quite a bit melted from lunchtime, when it turned to rain.

Four to six inches so far. Still snowing with the worse forecast for tonight/early tomorrow.

Less than an inch on the roads and people are getting stuck in it. Council say it, snow in winter, was unexpected. This has lead to roads not being gritted. The A58 is stationary in parts. The M62 was passable the last I heard, but temperatures are dropping.

02:15, snowing with visibility down to less than 100 yards.

Currently nothing moving outside, not even kids.
